This blog is all about how my dream venture ExCentre Labs came to reality. I promise there will be no technical terms and you can continue reading this without any headache (not saying that the future blogs will cause headache either : ) ).
I am Sudarshan Hebbar, an Electronics and Communication Engineer graduated in the year 2016. I completed my BE at VVIET, Mysuru. I was always fond of electronics, always had a dream of working in a pure electronics hardware domain, in a lab surrounded by nothing but electronics circuits. Well, dreaming has no limits but reality does have some limits. The current day electronics technologies definitely demand fair amount of knowledge on software/coding as well, which is anyway totally acceptable considering the boosted benefits.
During the final year of my engineering, while working on our project, I realized that there is a need for students for a well equipped laboratory which is easily accessible all days of the week. The project development work requires a lot of resources, tools, instruments and most importantly a place where the team can work together. Of course, the colleges does provide laboratory facilities but there are some limitations. This is when I had thought of a concept of public laboratory or which can be called as a makerspace.
After my graduation, when the software company that I was placed in, kept delaying my joining date, my dream of starting the venture grew strong. I was lucky, my parents fully supported me for this! My friends and well-wishers were not any exception. And that was how I was able to launch ExCentre Labs on 3 September, 2017, in the heritage city Mysuru.

It’s been more than 4 years and ExCentre Labs has served hundreds of students from in and around Mysuru. It has completed 60+ student projects across various domains of electronics and mechatronics. The lab has also catered to number of industries, product developers and passionate hobbyists. And yes, we have more to do! A lot of plans are in action whose results will be out at the earliest.
I have been promoting ExCentre Labs on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and other such social media. A website was lacking, but that gap has been filled now. So, for more details, please go through the website, and you do know – sharing is caring : )
Thank you for reading. I will be back with more blogs and put in my honest efforts to keep it regular.
